Sean Ries

Director of Campus Recreation

As Director of Campus Recreation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Mr. Ries is responsible for the management and operation of the 150,000 square foot Campus Recreation Center. He also oversees and manages the Department of Campus Recreation Services, consisting of 25 intramural sports, 10 sport clubs, 54 weekly group fitness classes, 4 special events, fitness programs, wellness programs, community leagues and camps, certifications, aquatics programs and a learn-to-swim program. He previously served as associate director of campus recreation at Cleveland State University, and as director of recreational services at Ashland University.
